With the patronage of Ajara government, the Fourth International Donor Conference was held in Batumi, at Sheraton Hotel. The representatives of Georgian and Adjara governments, diplomatic corps and international organizations, took part in the conference. In addition, the conference was attended by the representatives of UNDP, the British Council and the South Caucasus Regional Office of German Development Bank. The conference “Ajara – Cooperation for Growth” was opened by the Chairman of Ajara Government Mr. Archil Khabadze, who expressed his gratitude towards foreign donors for their support and cooperation, and talked about future prospects in his welcome speech. Strategic directions of the Ajara government, implemented and future projects, as well as future collaboration with international organizations were being discussed at the event. The Minister of Finance and Economy of Ajara A.R also addressed the audience with the speech. David Baladze paid particular attention to all those projects supported by donor organizations. The minister also spoke about the importance of support from foreign partners and mentioned that such extent of cooperation is one of the most vital factors in the region’s economic development. In the framework of the conference, guests were able to attend the opening ceremony of Batumi’s 4th International Agro-Food Products Exhibition.
